What's the difference between maker and taker fees?
A maker fee applies when your order adds liquidity to the order book (typically a limit order that sits and waits). A taker fee applies when your order removes liquidity (a market order that fills immediately). Makers usually pay less.
Why is Coinbase so much more expensive than Coinbase Advanced?
The regular Coinbase app targets retail users and bundles a convenience fee. Coinbase Advanced (formerly Coinbase Pro) uses a tiered maker/taker schedule similar to Kraken or Binance.
