Editorial Policy & Methodology

Last updated: 2026-04-23

DigitalFinances.com publishes reviews, comparisons, and guides covering crypto exchanges, digital banks, investing apps, and related fintech products. This page explains how we produce that content and the rules we follow to keep it useful and independent.

Who writes the content

Articles are produced by an internal editorial team with direct experience using the products and platforms covered. Individual authors may be credited on specific articles. When outside contributors are used, they are disclosed in the article byline.

How we evaluate products

For comparison roundups (e.g. Best Crypto Exchanges 2026) and framework guides (e.g. How to Choose a Crypto Exchange) we evaluate products across a consistent set of criteria:

  • Regulatory posture — licensing, jurisdictional compliance, and any meaningful enforcement history.
  • Security track record — hack history, custody model, insurance, independent audits.
  • Fees and costs — published schedules, hidden spreads, withdrawal fees.
  • User experience — onboarding friction, support quality, app stability.
  • Breadth and depth — asset coverage, liquidity, and relevant advanced features.

Affiliate relationships and editorial independence

We participate in affiliate programs with some of the products we cover. When you click a link and complete an action (signup, deposit, trade), we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Every page with affiliate links carries a visible disclosure — see our Affiliate Disclosure.

Commission rates never determine ratings, rankings, or coverage decisions. Products are selected for review based on market relevance and reader demand. Products we do not have affiliate relationships with are rated on the same criteria and, when they rank higher, they rank higher. We regularly recommend products (Fidelity, MetaMask, Trezor) with no commercial relationship.

Accuracy and updates

Published dates and last-updated dates are shown at the top of every article. Comparison data, fee schedules, and ratings are reviewed at least quarterly and whenever a major product change (rebrand, fee overhaul, regulatory event) occurs.

If you find an inaccuracy, please let us know through the contact form. Corrections are made promptly and, when material, are noted inline in the article.

Not financial advice

Everything on DigitalFinances.com is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not personalised financial, tax, or legal advice, and it should not be treated as such. Before making any financial decision, consult a licensed professional in your jurisdiction.

Data sources

Live market data on this site is sourced from CoinGecko (crypto), Finnhub (stocks), and Frankfurter / ECB (FX) and stored in our own database for consistent availability across the tools. Data is refreshed hourly for crypto and daily for stocks and FX.
